IT and Technical Information

Below, we have compiled all the technical details necessary for students presenting their TDK research projects.

At the University of Debrecen, users (staff and students), including external ones with an EDUROAM ID, can connect to the WiFi network available throughout the university campuses. During the OTDK, students and their supervisors may use this network.

The projectors at the conference typically use a 4:3 aspect ratio, and presentations will take place under natural lighting conditions, which should be considered when preparing materials. Presenters will not be provided, so if you require one for your presentation, we recommend bringing your device—preferably with a USB connector.

Monitors available on-site are equipped with VGA, HDMI, and DisplayPort connectors. The computers are running MS Office 2016, so preparing your presentation materials in a compatible format is advisable.

Each presentation may last 15 minutes, followed by a 5–7 minute discussion.
Presentations should be brought on a USB-compatible storage device. All students are required to upload their materials to the computers at the venue at least 15 minutes before the start of their session.

The official language of the OTDK and the research projects is Hungarian. Exceptions may apply for papers that qualified for the 37th OTDK before the publication of this announcement. In such cases, a Hungarian-language abstract must be submitted, and the oral presentation must also be delivered in Hungarian. For international students studying in Hungary, the language of the conference is English. Likewise, Hungarian native speakers enrolled in English-language programs may also present in English. Students studying in non-Hungarian-language institutions abroad may submit their work in English.

Travel:

  • Thanks to DKV Debreceni Közlekedési Zrt, all OTDK participants can travel free of charge on downtown public transportation during the event by presenting their lanyard pass.
  • Free travel is available only within Hungary and only on rail transport services. The destination of the outbound journey and the departure station of the return journey must be the location of the Section, which will also be indicated on the travel certificate authorizing free travel. The departure station may be anywhere within the territory of Hungary.
  • Eligible individuals may travel free of charge in 2nd class on domestic, scheduled public service trains operated by MÁV Passenger Transport Co. and GYSEV Co. to and from the venue(s) of the 37th OTDK. Additionally, if a participant wishes to travel in 1st class, the fare difference must be paid.
  • During travel, the eligible participant must carry the certificate issued to them and present it, upon request from transport personnel, either in printed form or on a mobile device screen, together with the official photo ID (identity card, passport, or driver's license) listed on the certificate, which is suitable for personal identification and contains a serial number. Please note that the ID recorded in the DÁP (Electronic Application System) is not yet accepted by transport personnel as proof of identity, and the actual physical document must be shown for free travel.
  • An additional condition for using the free travel service is that the OTDK participant must notify their Section of their travel intention by the deadline provided by the Section.
