The conference aims to create a forum for engineers and non-engineering researchers working in the border area, who are related to Autonomous Machines and Intelligent Robotics Applications.
From an application perspective, two main areas can be highlighted: transportation and robotics. Within these, on the one hand, there are land, air and water vehicles, and on the other hand, industrial and service robots. These are still comprehensive areas, which can be further subdivided (manufacturing, assembly, logistics, as well as physical assistance and care, etc.).
In terms of technological approach, autonomous machines are primarily connected through artificial intelligence, machine learning, and advanced control algorithms. However, these cannot exist without appropriate modelling, sensors, and actuators. The conference addresses broad areas of engineering research.
Autonomous machines go beyond narrowly defined engineering competencies. Concepts such as cognitive and social behaviour, human-robot interaction, and ethical and legal issues concerning liability may arise in connection with the operation of autonomous machines.
