Nesterov

Yurii Nesterov, world-leading mathematician and convex optimization pioneer, visited the Faculty of Engineering, discussing mathematics in the AI era, how engineers can adapt, and why logical, model-based thinking drives innovation.

The number of foreign students at the University of Debrecen has continued to grow, with almost 7,800 students studying at UD in the 2025/2026 academic year. Attila Jenei, Director of the Coordinating Center for International Education, advocates the continuous development of the English-language training system to maintain the popularity of the institution in the international student market and to increase competitiveness.

The new 2,700 square meter Vehicle Laboratory, built in the Science, Technology and Innovation Park of the University of Debrecen, will primarily be used for training and research related to the automotive industry. As part of an investment of nearly five billion forints, the facility has been supplied with state-of-the-art equipment, and workshops, laboratories, classrooms, offices, and a test track have also been created.

Rijeka University Delegation

A delegation from the University of Rijeka visited the Faculty of Engineering to explore potential areas of cooperation, particularly in maritime engineering.

Innovation Forum 2025

The Faculty of Engineering, in cooperation with Shanghai DianJi University, hosted an Innovation Forum on the latest advances in digital design and manufacturing, bringing together Debrecen-based companies and university partners.

A special cultural event titled Nations on Stage was held at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Debrecen on Tuesday. Foreign students performed music and dance exhibitions and presented their countries on stands. The dean of the faculty also took to the stage, with a band playing Hungarian folk music.
