How to Get to Debrecen | Faculty of Engineering

Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport (BUD)

• Budapest is Hungary’s main international gateway and offers significantly more direct flights from Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Asia than Debrecen Airport.
• From Budapest Airport to Debrecen:
  • By train: direct trains to Debrecen, total travel time: approx. 3–3.5 hours
  • By bus or shuttle: available with transfer in Budapest
  • By car: approx. 2.5–3 hours

• Debrecen has excellent rail connections with Budapest and other major Hungarian cities.
• From Budapest:
  • Departure station: Budapest Nyugati Railway Station
  • Travel time: approx. 2.5–3 hours
