World-renowned Expert in Artificial Intelligence and Optimization in Debrecen - Prof. Dr. Yurii Nesterov’s Lecture at the University of Debrecen

The world-renowned researcher of AI and optimization, Prof. Dr. Yurii Nesterov, will give a lecture at the University of Debrecen on October 15, as part of the IEEE conference jointly organized by the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Informatics.

Between October 15–16, 2025, the University of Debrecen will host the 1st IEEE Conference on Crisp and Soft Computing in AI, Modelling, and Control, organized in collaboration by the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Informatics.

The distinguished guest of the event is Prof. Dr. Yurii Nesterov, a globally recognized figure in AI optimization, best known for developing the Fast Gradient Method – one of the cornerstones of modern optimization theory. Nesterov is the recipient of several prestigious scientific awards, including the Dantzig Prize, the von Neumann Theory Prize, the EURO Gold Medal, and the INFORMS Lanchester Prize.

Keynote Lecture – Philosophical and Optimisation Aspects of Artificial Intelligence

The lecture, delivered in English, will be engaging not only for researchers and engineers but also for anyone interested in the future of artificial intelligence, optimization theory, or the philosophical aspects of AI.
